APTUK response to the NHSE Long Term Workforce Plan (NHSE LTWP)

APTUK strongly welcome the release of the NHSE LTWP on the 30^th June 2023 and the specific inclusion of Pharmacy Technicians, demonstrating professional recognition strategically and acknowledging our value and place within the current and future healthcare landscape.

The NHSE LTWP pledges a growth in the Pharmacy Technician workforce; retention of existing Pharmacy Technicians and a substantial increase in the future workforce across the UK must be a priority. This is essential for upskilling in preparedness for proposed legislative changes, which would impact on patient access to more clinical services.

We look forward to collaboratively working with NHSE on the delivery of this.
